Woodcraft Homes have taken the very
best of international log building techniques and systems and tailored them to
the market. This enables us to build a log home to meet the most demanding of
circumstances, while leaving us the freedom to create a style and look that is
uniquely yours.
Woodcraft Homes use tried and tested
construction techniques. Log buildings over 200 years old are commonplace
throughout Europe.
All Woodcraft Homes craftsmen are
trained to a high standard.
Foundation Details:
- Option A
- Mass concrete trench fill foundation taken
down to a depth approved by the Local Authority dependent on ground
conditions.
- Dense concrete block work on foundations to
required height.
- Option B
- Concrete pad foundations at sizes to suit
ground conditions.
- Dense concrete block work on foundations to
required height.
- 100mm x 100mm stainless steel frame to be
sited on block work.
Wall Details
- Option A
- External composite wall comprising 68mm thick
solid pine log outer skin, finished with three coats of woodstain, 20mm cavity,
breathable membrane, 50mm rigid thermal insulation between 100mm x 50mm timber
studs, vapour barrier with 12.5mm plasterboard and lightweight plaster skim to
finish.
- Alternative internal finish of 22mm pine TGV
available.
- Option B
- External wall comprising of single skin of
80mm log, finished externally with three coats of woodstain.
Floor Details
- 30mm thick pine T & G floor boarding on 25mm
softwood batten on vapour barrier, carried on floor joists with 55mm rigid
thermal insulation between.
- Alternative floor finishes available.
Roof Details
- Concrete roof tile fixed to softwood battens
nailed to counter batten with vapour permeable roofing felt laid between. Multi
layered quilt insulation laid over softwood rafters. Sloping ceiling to
underside of rafters covered with vapour barrier and finished with 22mm TGV
softwood timber.
